📚 This Week on BookLab
This is the first newsletter ever for booklab. My ideas is that it should be short and dense with book recommendations. No new video this week — I've been fighting off a cold. 🤧 But there's still plenty of fresh reading inspiration on the site!
👉 Biographies You Should Read ASAP — a curated list of the best life stories in nonfiction. If you haven't explored biographies yet, this is your starting point.
👉 Most Anticipated Nonfiction — April 2026 — also available as a video if you prefer to watch. Some seriously exciting releases this month.
💎 Hidden Gem
The Stranger in the Woods by Michael Finkel
A fantastic book almost no one is talking about. It's the true story of a man who lived alone in the woods of Maine for 27 years — not because he was angry with the world, but simply because he preferred solitude.
This one really resonated with my secret wish to fully escape civilization. 😄 If you've ever daydreamed about disappearing into the forest, this is the book for you.
🧠 One Thought
Zero to One by Peter Thiel
"What important truth do very few people agree with you on?"
A question we should all ask ourselves and answer as independent thinkers.
A good answer takes this form: "Most people believe in X, but the truth is the opposite."
We all like to believe we're contrarians. But are we really?
I love this book. It's direct, to the point, and leaves you with a lot to ponder. More in my upcoming review.
📖 What I'm Reading
🆕 Started: Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut — anti-war classic with time travel!
✅ Finished: Zero to One by Peter Thiel — loved it. It made my Great Books List. Review coming soon.
📚 Continuing: The Singularity Is Nearer by Ray Kurzweil — slow but steady progress.
📚 On hold: The Fabric of Reality by David Deutsch — it's so deep, I need a break. 😅
📚 Continuing: The Curious Mind of Elon Musk by Charles Steel — still fantastic, though it keeps adding to my reading list…
Reading List 2026 progress: 18% 📊
Have a good Sunday! ☀️ Feel free to hit reply and say hi — I read every message. Happy reading!
