📚 This Week on BookLab

A tough week. We launched Samson: A Tyndalston Story last week. The first time I release a video game in many years. Exhausting — I've never received so much harsh criticism for anything I've done in my life. But I guess that's an experience worth having during our short time here on earth, too. Other than that! Books! lets dive into it.

New Content

🔥 Fahrenheit 451 — Video Review is up! A book with a theme that might make the hair of book lovers raise. It's set in a world where firemen don't put out fires — they burn books! Another classic under my belt.

📈 Built a "Hype Meter" feature for my Top May Nonfiction Releases page on the site. Vote for the books you're most excited about!

💎 Hidden Gem

Among the Thugs by Bill Buford

An American journalist embeds himself in England's most violent football hooligan firms — and discovers something terrifying about human nature. Buford doesn't just observe the mob; he feels its pull. A visceral, unflinching exploration of crowd psychology and the primal tribal tendencies we all keep buried beneath civilized life.

🧠 One Thought — How to Read More Classics

I had an interesting discussion on X this week about how to incorporate classics into your reading list.

My strategy is simple: always have 4 classics in my reading list each year.

Classics are called classics for a reason — and even nonfiction lovers should read them. Simply because the best classics teach us about human nature.

📖 What I'm Reading

Week 16 — Reading List 2026 progress: 18% 📊

📚 Started rereading: Levels of Energy by Frederick Dodson — Dodson's pseudoscientific book is my guilty pleasure. Love it!

📚 Almost done: Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut — Time traveling with Billy Pilgrim has been a true pleasure. Only a few pages left on this classic.

📦 Book ordered: The Process: Six Mechanics of Achievement by @miteshj2001 — I feel the momentum building this year. This book will help me take things to the next level.

Have a great week! ☀️ Feel free to hit reply and say hi — I read every message. Happy reading!
